Based in Berwyn, Illinois, ZMF was founded by Zach Mehrbach, who began the journey of a headphone manufacturer by modding Fostex T50RPs in his basement. This was the seed that would eventually become unique proprietary designs, and eventually a workshop and a team of artisans regularly producing headphones.

With the ZMF Atrium Closed, ZMF takes the sound and acoustic design to a fully closed space, using their patent-pending damping system specially formulated for closed designs. The Atrium Closed focuses on sub-bass, staging and ease of listening for the ultimate biocellulose closed back experience.
