All Vintage NOS Vacuum Tubes
The HA-2A is a stunning, compact headphone amplifier designed around five vintage NOS vacuum tubes.
- 1 matched pair of Amperex 17BF111 NOS (dual pentode composite tubes) for single-ended pure Class A power amplification
- 1 matched pair of Amperex ECF82/6U8 NOS (high-gain pentode and medium-gain triode composite tube) for voltage amplification
- 1 RCA 17AX4GT NOS rectifier tube for pre-amp stage power supply
Specialized Single-ended Class A Tuning with Impedance Matched Headphone Outputs
Cayin designed an amplification circuit in single-ended Class A to take full advantage of the characteristics of each NOS vacuum tube. Through ingenious design and carefully planned wiring, Cayin has conveys balanced, mellow and rich harmonic vacuum tube sound.
The HA-2A supports a wide variety of headphones, with quarter inch, 4.4mm balanced and 4-pin balanced XLR outputs, up to 1000mW per channel of output power, and an impedance matching switch for optimal performance with headphones from 8 to 600 ohms.
Compact, Thoughtful Design
With overall dimensions of just 270mm x 273mm x 143mm, the HA-2SE is a surprisingly compact, high quality tube headphone amplifier. A vacuum tube protection cage is provided to prevent inadvertant contact with the heated tubes. A reinforced chassis bass minimises microphonic ringing from impact and vibration.
