US-based Campfire Audio’s first headphone is the Cascade, a closed back dynamic driver headphone with included detachable Litz cabling. The Cascade features beautiful build quality, with solid aluminium earcups, and sheep-leather earpads that ensure a comfortable fit and strong passive noise isolation for commuting and noisy offices alike. The headband, pivots, and joints are made of steel, ensuring the headphone is capable of holding up to the daily knocks and drops. The Cascade also folds neatly into the included carrying case.
The Campfire Audio Cascade is designed for portable use, with a low impedance and lightweight, durable design. The Cascade’s sound is bassy, with sparkle and wide imaging. The Cascade’s bass is extremely textured, with fast attack and decay, and yet contains rumble in the sub-bass. The treble is sparkly, and allows cymbals to shine. The culmination of these elements results in an energetic sound signature. The sound can also be modified with the included inserts, to tune the headphone for more bass or more treble, if desired. The Cascade is great for genres such as hip-hop, or EDM. For a more neutral sound signature in a portable closed headphone, consider the Beyerdynamic T5P.
