Highly-Conductive Construction

USB audio signals are high-frequency signals that travel mostly on the surface of the conductor. As silver is an excellent conductor of high-frequency signals, the main conductor of the USB B Carbon cable is plated with high-purity silver on the surface. This way, the audio signals can easily travel on the through the cable, without introduction of any distortions and make the copper cable perform like solid-silver conductor.

Clever Insulation Design

A solid material in touch with the conductor becomes a part of an imperfect circuit. Insulation used in standard USB cables induces noise and distortion in the signals, thus, degrading the quality of signals. As air absorbs next-to-zero energy and Polyethylene is a low-loss material with benign distortion profile, Audioquest has used Foamed-Polyethylene insulation for the Carbon USB A-to-B cable.
